Carnival Cruise Lines and Whodunit Productions, an organizer of mystery cruises at sea, have teamed for a series of "Whodunit Cruises" aboard the 2,052-passenger Carnival Paradise from Long Beach, Calif. Eight three-day mystery cruises will be offered, the first of which will depart on Oct. 31, Halloween. Other departure dates include Jan. 9, Feb. 13, March 13, May 1, July 17, Oct. 30 and Dec. 4, 2009. The "Whodunit Cruises" on the Carnival Paradise will include activities throughout the various public rooms with the objective of solving the mystery at the end of the voyage.

When participants arrive onboard, they are given a role to play and are encouraged to use the traits of their character to find out "whodunit." Mystery cruise participants also can interact with professional actors hired specifically to set the tone for the mystery. A variety of clues, everything from notes slipped discreetly under stateroom doors to instructions for clandestine missions, are provided throughout the cruise. As the clues unravel, participants have to solve the mystery. Mystery cruise participants are also invited to a Super Sleuth cocktail party at the end of the cruise to announce the Whodunit winner. Reservations are currently being accepted for the "Whodunit Cruises." Rates start at $348 per person, double occupancy, including all mystery cruise activities.
