Seward located on the south coast of Alaska is an access port for Anchorage to the north and the spectacular Kenai Fjords National Park to the southwest. The only town on the eastern side of the Kenai Peninsula. Complete with a picturesque harbour with colorful wood-frame houses and a background of cliffs that look out on to Resurrection Bay. The town was founded on Easter Sunday by Russian explorers in 1903. During the Good Friday Earthquake of 1964, a tidal wave over 100 feet tall washed away most of the waterfront. However, the charming town was rebuilt and is now home to 3,500 residents.
