Climate and current weather information for Perth: Summer officially stars in December and finishes in march, although there is plenty of warm weather and sunshine leading up to and following these moths. The hottest months are January and february and temperatures can frequently reach the mid to 85-100°F/30's °C or more, and when it does, it is colloquiallly refered to as "a scorcher". Perth and South Spring and summer (September to February) are mild to warm so bring light to medium-weight clothing. Autumn and winter (March to August) are cooler requiring warmer clothes. North of Perth Spring and summer (September to February) are hot so wear cool clothing. Autumn and winter (March to August) are mild to warm so light to medium weight clothes are useful.Before you go outside apply SPF 15+ broad spectrum, water-resistant sunscreen to all areas except those that will be covered by highly protective clothing all the time you are outside. Make sure you take extra SPF 15+ sunscreen, a broad-brimmed hat, a long-sleeved shirt with a collar, and long pants. Cover yourself with clothing as much as possible, especially in the middle of the day. If you are snorkelling or swimming, make sure that your back and all other exposed areas are well covered by sunscreen. If there is any shade available, use it. The deeper the shade the better.

Perth, founded in 1829, was originally occupied by groups of the Nyoongar tribe for thousands of years. They can be traced back some 40,000 years. Many of Perth's fine buildings include the Government House and Perth Town Hall. The discovery of gold in 1890s increased the population and initiated a building boom. Many of these 19th-century buildings have since disappeared amidst the concrete. Western Australia's mineral wealth has undeniably contributed to Perth's growth. Perth now has the fourth highest population of any city in Australia.

Underwater World: Visitors have the chance to encounter the beautiful bottlenose dolphins. Watch them being fed and observe their natural behaviour. A submerged tunnel on a moving walkway brings visitors face to face with over 2,000 marine animals. Experience the thrill of watching divers hand-feed sharks and giant rays. The touch pool, offers visitors a chance to feel a starfish or even a shark, or zoom in on the sea's tiny creaturest the Microworld display.
Whale Watching: The beauty and wonder of the humpback whale all visible on cruises operating from Hillarys Boat Harbour.
Perth Tram: A wooden replica tram was built locally to resemble the first trams operating in Perth in 1899.
Kings Park: Beautiful views are offered from Kings Park. The park includes a 17 hectare (42 acre) Botanic Garden and a section of natural bushland. In spring, there's a cultivated display of Western Australia's famed wild flowers.
Museum of Western Australia: Located in Northbridge, this museum has an excellent gallery of Aboriginal culture, a marine gallery with the skeleton of a 25m (82ft) blue whale, vintage cars, and a gallery of dinosaurs. Visitors can also get a glimpse of Megamouth, one of the largest species of shark. Only about five of these creatures have ever been captured.The museum complex also includes Perth's original prison, built in 1856 and used until 1888.
Beaches: Surfing and swimming are favorite activities for locals along with diving and fishing. Perth has some of the the best city beaches in Australia. Wind is common in the afternoon. There are calm bay beaches on the Swan River at Crawley and Peppermint Grove. The surf beaches are located on the Indian Ocean coast, and include Perth's very popular nude beach at Swanbourne. Scarborough is popular for its beachside café society, and is great for experienced surfers and sailboarders.
