During the summer months December through February coastal climate may have seabreezes with temperatures in the mid 70°F/21°C, while inland temperatures can reach 100°F/38°C degrees. General summer temperatures rance between 73-82°F/(22-28°C) degrees on the coast and 80-90°F / (27-32°C) degrees inland. The fall season is March through May, Winter June through August and Spring September through November. Rainfall is most common between February and June.

Sydney, the world's largest "island", has a striking harbour and a lovely seaside setting. Sydney is said to be the most beautiful in the world. The city is divided with Sydney Proper on one side of the harbor and North Sydney on the other side. The Harbour Bridge links the two metropolitan areas.The city is surrounded by inviting beaches. Australia has many Old World touches with a feeling from the New World. Sydney offers a contrast of old and new. This city is set around the very scenic Sydney harbor, home to the Sydney Opera House. The Rocks is the oldest district in Sydney. Cruise passengers will enjoy the historic Victorian buildings, the shops, cafés, and museums. Darling Harbour is a more modern version of the Rocsk. Architecture in this area is stunning as well. Near the Darling Harbor is Chinatown, a very popular area for tourists. Here you will find plenty of shopping including the Dixon Street Mall, with its many restaurants and pubs. Chinatown is also home to the Garden of Friendship.
Captain James Cook sailed the Endeavor into the Botany Bay in 1770. He claimed the east coast of the island continent for England and then renamed it New South Wales. Captain Arthur Phillip was dispatched to the new destination with approximately 1,000 convicts on May 13, 1787. Today Sydney has outgrown its convict origins. The Sydney harbor is the gateway to a beautiful city that should not be missed.

Sydney Harbour Bridge:
This climb is a three hour adventure. Climb the steep stairways and narrow catwalks. This is geared for you active cruise passengers! The climb is a guided tour and are both day and evening. Children under 12 and pregnant women may not take part in this excursion.

Shopping:
There is plenty of shopping in Sydney. Areas include Pitt Street Mall , Downtown, and Castlereagh Street.
