Harwich is a seaport in Essex, and located on the eastern coast of England, between the Stour and Orwell rivers. At one time a shipbuilding center, Harwich is one of England's principal North Sea ferry terminals. The city began to grow as many fishermen and laborers came to the town for work. Harwich has been a major port for trade with the rest of Europe since 1150. Here you can find regular passenger crossings to Sweden and Denmark. Harwich has been an active outport for London since the 14th century.
