Climate and current weather information for Hamburg Germany: Daytime temperatures usually remain in the 60s and 70s°F (16-21°C) from late spring through the early fall. There are occasional hot days in the summer months that may bring temperatures in the 80s°F/27°C. Showers are common during July and August.
 
Port: Hamburg is a large commercial port that is ranked the 5th largest in the world. It is the center of shipping for Germany. The dock only half of a mile from the
city center.
The historical Hamburg is Germany’s largest port and its second largest city. Located 70 miles inland on the banks of the Elbe. During medieval times Hamburg was an independent state. There has been evidence of early settlements in Hamburg traced back as far as some 15,000 years ago. The city was established and fortified during the ninth century when it was under constant attack by the Vikings. The city was granted free trade, during the early 12th century. Hamburg surpassed all of the other European cities in commerce during the powerful
era of the Hanseatic League.
A prosperous city of striking architecture both new and old. A city that offers plenty of history and splendid art, as well as cosmopolitan shopping, dining and nightlife. There are two lakes, hundreds of canals and many spacious parks. The grandeur of its church steeples and great City Hall belfry, release a sense of energy and confidence. Hamburg has a feel and flavor unlike any other German city. Famous for its culture, maritime flair, world-class shopping and the traditional trading houses found in "spice city" (Speicherstadt), Hamburg definately has something for everyone.
Attractions

City Hall:
A magnificent sandstone neo-Renaissance style City Hall. Built between 1886 and 1897. There are 647 rooms, making it larger than Buckingham Palace! It is also the site of the Hamburg City Government and the Hamburg Parlament.
St Michaelis Church:
The most important Baroque church in Northern Germany. The "Michel" is the symbol of Hamburg.
Speicherstadt and Fish Market:
The historic Speicherstadt is located in the Free port and it is the world's oldest warehouse complex. Today you can still find merchandise from all over the world including coffe, tea, spices and the largest storage anywhere of oriental rugs. The Fish Market operates on Sunday mornings from 5am. to 10am.
Lüneburg and the Lüneburg Heath:
Approximately 30 minutes from Hamburg by train. This is a beautiful medieval old town with fine redbrick architecture. Enjoy the “heath blossom” in the famous heath near Hamburg. Take a romantic coach rides and witness an encounter with the beautiful woolly Heidschnucken sheep.
St. Pauli District & Reeperbahn:
In some areas it maintains the romanticized image of the prototypical "red light district" with a glow of red lights, that softened the features of the "working girls" that entertained lonely sailors. Today it is now the center of Hamburg's night scene and most of this area is a modern bar-and-disco zone. You won't see many sailors, or prostitutes any longer. although the area is still home to erotica of all varieties. Not a suggested place for children.
No other city in Europe can pride itself on as many indoor arcades as Hamburg. Here cruise passengers will find plenty of shops and renowned department stores. Shopping is a tradition along Jungfernstieg, Mönckebergstrasse and on Spitaler Strasse. Neuer Wall offers a line of top international designers, and has become Germany's equivalent to 5th Avenue. For antique hunters, you will want to wander over to "Quartier Satin" on the ABC Strasse and the Antik-Center on Klosterwall.
