Located on the southeast coast of New Brunswick is St John. On the Bay of Fundy and at the mouth of the Saint John River. Saint John is the site of Martello Tower, built during the War of 1812. The New Brunswick Museum, built in 1842, was Canada's first museum, with historic collections. The harbour and waterfront area has made river area a popular tourist attraction.
French explorer Charles de La Tour established a trading post on the site of Saint John in 1631 . In 1759 the British took control of the area, then in 1783 several thousand United Empire Loyalists from the United States settled here. In 1785 the city of Saint John was formed by the merging of Parr Town and Carleton, making it the first city in Canada to become incorporated.

Signal Hill National Historic Site
This commemorates the cliff top where signal flags once alerted local merchants, customs officials and harbor pilots of approaching ships. Cabot Tower, built in 1897, is situated atop the hill. This Tower was used for signaling until 1960 and is now home to exhibits of Marconi's historic, very first transatlantic wireless message in 1901.
Cape Spear
Just seven miles southeast of the town, is the easternmost point in North America. The original Cape Spear lighthouse, which was built in 1836, has been restored and is Newfoundland's oldest surviving lighthouse.

See different types of creatures, including: arctic fox, moose, lynx, snowshoe hare, owls, eagles, & river otters.
