Highs are in the low 70s °F/20s °C, with temperatures dipping to around 50°F/10°C in the evenings. It's hot and humid in summer, with highs in the low 90s F/30s °C and lows in the 70s °F/20s °C. Ocean breezes tend to provide respite from the heat in Cape Canaveral, but the breezes die and the heat settles over the interior of the state like a warm, wet glove. Attractions

The Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge offers a 7-mile wildlife drive and numerous hiking trails. The Ulumay Wildlife Sanctuary is great for bird-watching, canoeing and kayaking.

Kennedy Space Center Located on State Road 405 on Merritt Island, and open 9 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., daily is naturally the largest attraction on the Space Coast. The visitor complex offers tours and exhibits, plus educational IMAX films and astronaut encounters, which include question and answer sessions, space artifacts and personal stories of space travel.

Cocoa Beach, a popular tourist area featuring a 800-foot-long fishing pier, miles of beach, the largest surf shop in the US, and excellent seafood restaurants.

Cocoa Village, is located near Cocoa, it is a historical village with more than 50 unique shops and restaurants. Be sure to visit The Village Gingerbread House (15 Oleander Street), for charming gifts.

Walt Disney World is located about an hour from the port.

Beaches
Cocoa Beach’s shoreline provides some of the best beaches, with plenty of restaurants and other amenities nearby. Although most beaches are fronted by resorts, there is no charge and you don’t have to be staying at the resort to access the beach.

Coconuts on the Beach, located at 2 Minuteman Causeway, and open Monday - Saturday from 11 a.m., Sunday from 10 a.m. offers great food in a beachside atmosphere.
