Climate and current weather information for Seattle: Annual rainfall is 36 inches per year, only 55 days of sunshine a year, you can expect to see some fog, mist or cloud. The Pacific Northwest's climate is best between June and September. Spring and fall can also provide fine weather although it does rain more here than just about anywhere else in the U.S.A.. In winter, snow in the nearby mountains provides excellent skiing. Winter temperatures are around 50°F/10°C summer: between 75-85°F (25 to 30°C).
 
Seattle is a city in the state of Washington located on the northwestern Pacific coast of the United States, between Puget Sound and Lake Washington. It is often called the Emerald City. The large parks, green hillsides, beautiful gardens, snowcapped mountains make Seattle the gorgeous city that is home to Bill Gates' billion dollar empire, Amazon.com, Starbucks headquarters and Nordstrom's headquarters. Seattle is just as trendy as cities such as New York or London.

It is one of the three "gateway" cities to the Pacific Northwest (the others being Vancouver in British Columbia and Portland in Oregon). Seattle serves as a commercial, cultural and transportation hub for the region.

It is the most populated city in the state and was built on a series of hills and is noted for its beautiful scenery. The Olympic National Park on the west, and the Cascade Range, which includes Mount Rainier, are on the east.
Attractions

The Space Needle: The number one tourist attraction. This is a 52-story building, which houses a revolving restaurant just below the observation deck making one revolution each hour. From here you get a view of Mt. Rainier. From downtown you would take the monorail to get the space needle.

Pike Place Market: This is the oldest farmer's market in the nation. The market now houses shops, restaurants as well as fresh produces.

Pioneer Square: Known for it's red brick buildings the now historic district forms the core of the oldest section of Seattle. Located here are the cities most popular art galleries, coffee houses, restaurants and taverns.

Klondike Gold Rush National Historic Park: This small museum in Pioneer Square reflects the days when gold-seekers stopped in on their way to the Yukon.

The Seattle Art Museum: Close to Pike's Market is Seattle's premier art museum, featuring rotating exhibitions as well as a large collection of sculptures and paintings.

The Seattle Aquarium: Here you can watch sea otters at play. The pacific coral reef and the IMAX Dome Theater next door are just as entertaining.

Seattle City Tour: This tour takes you to Pike's Place Market, the Space Needle and most of the other major tourist attractions.

Wildlife Cruise: On this narrated tour you learn about the habitats and lifestyles of eagles, harbor seals, puffins, birds and kittiwakes. You may even see a humpback whales you may spot along the way.

Sports: If you are more interested in athletics then enjoy a walking tour, rent a bike, go kayaking at Puget Sound or go hiking.
