Climate and current weather information for Manzanillo Mexico: Expect daytime temperatures in the low to mid 80'sºF (25-30°C) evenings run about 10°F/5°C degrees cooler. Manzanillo is fairly dry during the winter cruising season. However from June to October, it can be more humid with frequent showers.

Your cruise ship will pull in to the San Diego B Street cruise terminal which is about a 40-minute drive from Manzanillo. Located at Avenida Teniente Azueta 9 (tel. 333/2-1254). Taxis are waiting to take you to your destination in the city or to outlying areas
Local buses, known as camionetas, travel along the bay of Manzanillo and to Santiago Peninsula and the Bay of Santiago to the north.
The beaches here are marvelous, and there is an abundance of water sports and activities to keep you busy for hours in or out of the water. In the past few years, tourists have discovered the wonder of Manzanillo, and as a result, the economy and the state of life in Manzanillo have both improved dramatically. A great deal of building has been done, and the port here is now one of the biggest commercial centers in all of Mexico. The word manzanillo translates to chamomile, and the acres of chamomile fields in Manzanillo are magnificent. Set against a backdrop of the sparkling Pacific Ocean, the flowerbeds, tropical brush and mountains, and golden-sand beaches are even further enhanced. Everywhere you walk, you will be amazed at the beauty and splendor of the region, and traveling around the bays by foot will open you up to how glorious this destination truly is. In 1995, a strong earthquake heavily damaged Manzanillo, and the years following were devoted to rebuilding and expansion. The Santiago Peninsula was completely modernized, and is now the most luxurious area of Manzanillo, filled with outstanding golf courses and fabulous eateries. The downtown area is centered on the vibrant harbor. It is certainly a different scene from the calm and tranquil Santiago Peninsula. The shopping and nightlife all around the city are superb. Sport fishing and sailing are both extremely popular here, and wonderful weather makes it the perfect place to enjoy a round of golf.

On your cruise vacation if you're looking for action, Manzanillo offers superb deep sea fishing, parasailing and scuba diving. Manzanillo is also known as the sail fish capital of the world. The scuba operation is run by qualified instructors and the parasailing done using Winch direct parasailing boats. No dangerous beach take off or landings. Water sports are available at most resort beaches. The most popular beaches are the Bay of Santiago, Playa Audiencia, and Bay of Manzanillo. All offer a variety of water sports. What they don't offer are crowds.

Sport fishing and sailing are both extremely popular here, and wonderful weather makes it the perfect place to enjoy a round of golf. Tee off at the 9-hole course at Club Santiago or the Peter Dye designed course at La Mantarraya. If this doesn't excite you, try the 27-hole course in Barra Navidad, north of town. More than just for fish and fishermen, the fishing tournament, held during the last week of November each year, includes a fiesta with mariachis, rope dancing, and rooster fights.
Boating and Fishing: Manzanillo is the self-proclaimed "Sailfish Capital of the World." Only a handful of other cities in the world
could argue the title.
Visit the Museum of Archaeology and History, housing an excellent exhibition of pre-Columbian artifacts and a gallery of Mexican paintings.
Shopping:
Travel to several resort shopping areas in and around Manzanillo. Here's a good chance to hone your bargaining skills. A pinata or two would make a terrific gift - inexpensive to buy, easy to carry home, and fun to open.
For shoppers, visit Manzanillo shops, offering everything from silver to trinkets, surround the jardin and line Mexico Avenue. Check out the El Dorado Bazaar for a wide selection of local crafts. Stalls at the Manzanillo market are filled with fruits, vegetables, and fresh seafood. Leather goods and pinatas are also
available. Markets border the beaches of many resorts, offering hair braiding services and souvenirs. The Plaza Pacifico contains numerous shops catering
to tourists. Buy Mexican silver jewelry to your heart's content; however, shop for it only at reputable stores. Some of the "silver" sold by vendors is actually a
nickel alloy - pretty, but not the real thing.
The Archeological Museum is located near downtown in the San Pedrito traffic circle (333/2-22-56), and its 18,000 artifacts from Mesoamerica and Colima, in addition to its collection of contemporary Mexican art, make it the most frequented museum in the region. This is a great place to learn about Mexican heritage and history, and is entertaining for all age groups.
According to Golf Digest,La Mantarraya (333/4-00-00) golf course is among the top 100 courses in the world. Located at Las Hadas, this 18-hole course will surely please even the most seasoned golfer. Club Santiago (333/5-04-10) has a pristine nine-hole course designed by Larry Hughes.
