Climate and current weather information for Port Williams Chile: October to April are the warmer summer months, while May to October is colder. The Chilean climate varies considerably according to latitude. It is dry and hot in the north, and wet and windy in the south. Coastal areas are cooled by the cold Humboldt current. In the south, the most settled weather is between December and March, and dominated by westerly winds. In this area, northerly winds can bring rain and poor visibility. The only climate Chile doesnt have is a tropical climate. Average temperatures are a minimum of 55°F/13°C and maximum of 90°F/32°C in summer, and a minimum of 36°F/2°C and a maximum of 59°F/15°C in winter.
 
This port is now a Chilean Naval base, originally known as Puerto Luisa. It is on Navarino Island, south of the Beagle Channel and approximately 5 miles from downtown in Bahia Catalina.
Port Williams is located on Isla Navarino along the southern shore of the Beagle Channel. Puerto Williams, originally known as Puerto Luisa was founded as a radio station in 1953 and then later developed into a naval base. It is a small town that offers sailing, kayaking, and hiking.
Port Williams is the most populated town in the south of Chile. It is elongated in shape and quite unique in comparison to the rest of Chile. This unique shape allows for a varied climate and vegetation. Port Williams is a very mountainous town.
Attractions

The Yacht Club:
A social centre for yachties, tourists and the Chilean naval personnel. This is the last stop for yachties determined to sail to Cape Horn and Antarctica. Club de Yates Micalvi occupies the top decks of a sunken 850 ton freighter which lies in a sheltered inlet that is connected to land by a bridge. Multimillion dollar cruising yachts are docked alongside. There is a small lounge with a crackling wood fire place. Light meals are served. Mingle with the yachties from USA, Norway, Brazil, and others who have sailed south through the Chilean fiords, or from the Atlantic, as they head for Antarctica.
