My third cruise in two years was far below what I expected. Took a Caribbean cruise on NCL in 03/06 and had a great time, on a scale of 1 to 10 that cruise was a 8. Took another Caribbean cruise on the Carnival Conquest in 12/06 and also had a great time, also give that ship a 8, so why do I give the NCLA in Hawaii a 4, simple the service was poor. My wife and I agree that the American staff who service the NCLA do not even come close to the Foreign staff who service the other cruise distinations. Short and sweet ,in the future if the ship has USA staff for service I will not go on that ship. Other than the Seas being very rough and rain every day, (my mistate for not looking into Hawaii Winter weather for that time of year) we had a OK time. The food, entertainment, excursions was about the same as the other Cruise lines. The Beaches are below what we experienced in the Caribbean. We had a penthouse suite for this cruise, the Concierge and Butlers assigned for us did a Very Good job, (but remember we paid big bucks for this privilege) but from what we heard from other passengers if you have a regular ocean view room the service was horrible. If your thinking of doing a Cruise I recommend the Caribbean.
