Our first cruise!! And it was wonderful! The ship is not that old - decorated very nicely - oranges and purples and blues - very vibrant and happy! We had a stateroom with a picture window - great cabin, plenty of room, full bathroom, very clean and neat. Joe and Chris (shortened names) were very polite, learned our names the first night and kept our stateroom perfectly. We even had a couple of towel animals and a flower on valentines- WTG!
Very first thing we did was head to the pool - there was a heck of a party going on.... and we saw ourselves on the ships TV in our stateroom that night!
Pools were great - warm and salty, crystal clean and COOL... Deck chairs were hard to come by after breakfast, but we managed.
Food - GREAT! The buffet for breakfast, lunch, and dinner all was very good. Lots of variety, good taste, nice presentation, and there was always someone cleaning the buffet area and restocking.
Mama's Kitchen - Italian - very nice. Food was great, atmosphere and service - EXCELLENT! Try the ceaser salad - best I have had!
Tango's - GREAT! Very Cool. Food and service - excellent - atmosphere - fun and romantic..... Musicians playing right below us - Must Try Restaurant
Steakhouse - (can't remember name...) VERY VERY NICE - had a romantic dinner here on valentines..... again - food and service excellent!
Czars - same here - atmosphere a little quieter than others - breakfast was fantatstic and dinner great.
Entertainment - AMAZING! We were on a cruise ship and went to a show 4 of 5 nights..... Kenny Byrd - hilarious and yet tasteful - imagine a comedian who can make the audience roar without swearing or making lewd gestures.... All shows fantastic!
Our days and nights were packed as full as we could - we were only "lazy" once.... should have booked a 7 night cruise LOL.
Staff - The Best! Attentive, pleasant, professional, funny...... not a single complaint!
Cozumel was beautiful! We booked our excursion thru the ship - and no surprises or problems. We did the Jeep / Snorkel tour. Our guides were funny and very good - tis the first time I had snorkled and it was AWESOME! Then our guides told us "go to Carlos & Charlies for a free gift" - it was an ice cold drink at a totally wild bar! great time... but if you're a partier - take along a "designated stay sober and keep me from going wild person" - you will need it here...
Grand Cayman - a real disappointment after Cozumel - expensive and not as pretty - we just rented a jeep and checked out the island.... food and drinks very expensive - jewelry - no real deals here.... most of the jewelry is imported from Bali and some from Canada!
Boarding and disembarking - very easy! We flew into Miami international - and took the shuttle from the airport to the ship - had to wait about 30 mins for the next bus, but no big deal - the sun was shining while we waited! cost $15 /person ea way... The luggage handlers were a little rough tho. Our luggage was delivered to our stateroom all in tact.... We carried our luggage off ourselves when we left - quick and easy as long as you fill out the proper customs form and have your passport in your hand.
We booked our cruise on line thru Vacationstogo.com and there were no surprises or problems - great service there too.
The rental car company was a different story - Dollar Rental - NEVER again! We arrived to pick up early - so our choice of vehicles was not available - they upgraded us to a jeep for more money - not an upgrade in our book - We had reserved a Charger.... so after much hassle and arguing - we got a Chrysler 300 for same price but took 1 1/2 hrs...... could have waited 30 min longer for our original pick up time - and the charger would still not have been available!!! We have always used Hertz before on vacations - and will next time.
Then it was time for Her Majesty and hubby to go home to reality LOL
